STEAM CLEANING

CARAVAN STEAM-CLEANING AND VALET

Caravan Man after valet service

Caravan steam-cleaning or valet services in South Africa partially include what is known as “detailing” in other countries 2. Small repairs are part of the maintenance process.

Klaus-Dieter Henning was the first person to introduce steam cleaning or valeting of caravans into South Africa after he researched the process for more than 3 years.

Steam cleaning was not done as a service before 2014. Caravan Man can be considered the pioneers of caravan steam cleaning in South Africa.

By March 2022 Klaus had done a total number of 630 valets to caravans.

Bar the chassis, the interior is steam cleaned with steam consisting of 96% vapour and 4% water, known as “dry steam”. Dry steam is hotter than wet steam at 120°. This kills any bacteria, disease-causing organisms (pathogens), dust mites and other unhealthy and unwanted “goggos” or bugs. All unwanted pathogens are killed within seconds.

The caravan valet process

  • All cupboards and storage areas are emptied. The dry steam evaporates quickly and leaves no water residue so there is no chance of water damage or wood rot.
  • Mattresses, cushions, curtains (excluding lace curtains), the roof, walls, floor and inside of fridges and microwaves are steam-cleaned.
  • The outside of the caravan is steam cleaned with dry and wet steam and care is taken that water damage does not occur. All smooth external areas are polished to leave your caravan as good as new.

Eco-friendly products are used in the steam-cleaning process to ensure the best result and care for the environment.

Less than 60 litres of water is used to steam-clean a caravan compared to more than 200 litres when washing with a hosepipe.

All caravan valets are done swiftly and professionally by our trained and supervised staff on-site.
